Preparation before Use Sleep Rules (models for Europe) You can set whether sleep mode operates for each function. When the machine enters sleep mode, it takes longer for the machine to wake and return to normal operation. For more information on Sleep Rules settings, refer to Sleep Rules (models for Europe) on page 8-36. In case of not using the machine for a extended period of time CAUTION: If this machine will be left unused for an extended period (e.g. overnight), turn it off at the power switch. If the machine will not be used for an even longer period of time (e.g. vacation), remove the power plug from the outlet as a safety precaution. If using the machine with the fax function, note that turning the machine off at the power switch disables fax transmission and reception. CAUTION: Remove paper from the cassettes and seal it in the paper storage bag to protect it from humidity. 2-8
