2 Installing the Nokia IP1200 Series Appliance This chapter describes how to install the Nokia IP1200 Series appliance. The following topics are discussed: „ Rack Mounting the Appliance „ Before You Begin Caution To help guard against electrostatic discharge damage, make sure you are properly grounded by using a grounding wrist strap and following the instructions provided with the wrist strap before you handle the components or open the appliance. The grounding plug on the front of the appliance (shown in Figure 1 on page 20) provides a chassis grounding point If you do not have a grounding wrist strap, make sure you are properly grounded before you touch any electronic component. Rack Mounting the Appliance The Nokia IP1200 Series appliance mounts in a standard 19-inch equipment rack with four mounting screws, as Figure 9 shows. Note To avoid damaging your equipment, Nokia recommends that you use all four rack-mounting bolts when you install your appliance on the rack.
