The ISMU requires that the minimum level of InfoPrint Manager is InfoPrint Manager Version 2 Release 2. The utility does not support InfoPrint Manager Version 2 Release 1 migrations. The tool will not limit the migration from InfoPrint Manager Version 2 Release 1 but the results might be unpredictable. Prerequisites Before using ISMU, make sure you are aware of these recommendations: v To run this utility, you must have administrative rights on the system where InfoPrint Manager is running. v The InfoPrint Manager servers must be installed and running at all times. v The InfoPrint Manager target servers must not contain any objects. v To run ISMU, these programs must be installed on your machine: zip and unzip v ISMU uses a tool called reg.exe to control the Windows Registry. For Windows 2000 operating systems, reg.exe is available, but it is not installed as part of the operating system. You can find this tool within Windows 2000 Support Tools on the Windows 2000 installation CD-ROM. Go to the /Support/Tools folder and run the setup.exe file. v ISMU also requires IBM Java™ Runtime Environment 5.0 or later to be installed on your machine. Note: You can only run ISMU locally. This utility does not have network functionality. Migrating your InfoPrint Manager settings Before migrating your InfoPrint Manager settings and objects, read the following sections to find out more about what files are automatically backed up and what files are not automatically backed up. For the files and settings that are not automatically backed up, you should use the manual back up procedure. Automatic process This section lists the files that will be automatically backed up and restored by ISMU. Table 10.
