The Camcorder : Advanced Recording Selecting the Record Mode for Camcorder Use ✤ You can select the Recording mode in the REC and PLAY (DV IN) modes of your camcorder. ✤ This camcorder records and plays back in SP (Standard Play) and LP (Long Play) modes. - SP: Standard Play, this mode permits 60 minutes of recording time with a normal DVM60 tape. - LP: Long Play, this mode permits 90 minutes of recording time with a normal DVM60 tape. The following instructions show how to set in REC mode. 1. Turn your camcorder on by setting the Power Switch to REC mode. 2. Press the MENU button. The top menu including "A/V" is displayed. 3. Press the DOWN button to select "A/V", then press the OK button. The submenu including "REC MODE" is displayed. 4. Press the DOWN or UP button to select "REC MODE", then press the OK button. Each press of the OK button toggles the REC MODE between SP and LP. 5. Press the MENU button to exit the menu screen. ENGLISH 2 2 2 Reference (AV IN/OUT: VP-D6050i/D6040i only) ✤ Playback of a tape recorded by different equipment may produce mosaic shaped distortion. ✤ When you record a tape in both SP and LP modes, or only in LP mode, the playback picture may be distorted or the time code may not be properly written between scenes. ✤ Record using SP mode for the best picture and sound quality. 59

Selecting the Record Mode for Camcorder Use
You can select the Recording mode in the REC and PLAY(DV IN) modes of your camcorder.
This camcorder records and plays back in SP (Standard Play) and LP (Long Play) modes.
-
SP: Standard Play, this mode permits 60 minutes of recording time with a normal DVM60 tape.

LP: Long Play, this mode permits 90 minutes of recording time with a normal DVM60 tape.
The following instructions show how to set in REC mode.
1.
Turn your camcorder on by setting the Power Switch to REC mode.
2.
Press the MENU button.
The top menu including “A/V” is displayed.
3.
Press the DOWN button to select “A/V”, then press the OK button.
The submenu including “REC MODE” is displayed.
4.
Press the DOWN or UP button to select “REC MODE”, then press the OK button.
Each press of the OK button toggles the REC MODE between SP and LP.
5.
Press the MENU button to exit the menu screen.
Playback of a tape recorded by different equipment may produce mosaic shaped distortion.
When you record a tape in both SP and LP modes, or only in LP mode, the playback picture may be distorted or the time
code may not be properly written between scenes.
Record using SP mode for the best picture and sound quality.
