Viewing images Symptom The image cannot be played back. The image is coarse right after being played back. The images cannot be played back on a TV. The images cannot be played back on a computer. Cause Solution • The mode dial is not set to . p Set the mode dial to (page 39). • You changed the folder/file name on a computer. p See page 116. • You cannot play back the image on the camera if - you modify the image on a computer. • The camera is in USB mode. p Cancel USB communication (page 110). • The CF card cover is open. p Close the CF card cover (page 23). • The image momentarily becomes rough for image processing. p This is not a malfunction. • The [Video Out] setting for the camera in SET p Set [Video Out] to [NTSC] or [PAL] (pages 48 and 142). UP is incorrect. • The connection is not correct. p Check the connection (page 41). - p See page 125. Deleting/editing an image Symptom Cause Solution Your camera cannot delete an image. You have deleted the image by mistake. The resizing function does not work. You cannot attach a print (DPOF) mark. You cannot cut a image. • The image is protected. p Cancel the protection (page 89). • The write-protect switch on the "Memory Stick" p Set it to the recording position (page 144). is set to the LOCK position. • Once you have deleted an image, you cannot restore it. p Protecting the image can prevent accidental erasure (page 89). p The write-protect switch on the "Memory Stick" will prevent you from deleting images by mistake (page 144). • You cannot resize movies, Multi Burst, RAW - data files, and uncompressed (TIFF) images. • Print (DPOF) marks cannot be attached to - movies or images recorded in RAW mode. • The movie is not long enough to cut. • Protected movies cannot be cut. • Still images cannot be cut. - p Cancel the protection (page 89). - 124
