Changing the IP Address using the BRAdmin32 application Start the BRAdmin32 utility (from Windows 95/98) The BRAdmin32 utility can use the IPX/SPX or TCP/IP protocols to communicate with the Brother Network printer. As the default IP address of Brother print servers is 192.0.0.192, this means that the print server will probably be incompatible with the IP address numbering scheme on your network. If you are not using DHCP, BOOTP or RARP, you will probably want to change the IP address of the print server. There are two ways that you can do this from within BRAdmin32. 1) Use the IPX/SPX protocol, 2)use the TCP/IP protocol and let BRAdmin32 find the Brother Print server as an un-configured device. If your PC has Netware client software. 1. Select IPX/SPX filter in the left frame of the main window. 2. Check the print server name (the default node name will be BRN_xxxxxx, where "xxxxxx" is the six digits of the Ethernet address (MAC address)) 3. If you cannot find your server name, select the "Device" menu and choose "Search Active Devices" (you can also press the F4 key) and try again. Note You can find the node name and MAC address by printing out the printer configuration page. Refer to the Quick Setup Guide for information on how to print the configuration page on your print server. 4. Select the print server that you wish to configure and double click it. You will be asked for a password. The default password is "access". 5. Select the TCP/IP tab and set the IP address, Subnet mask and Gateway as needed. 6. Click OK.
