Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions on page 44. 2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system on page 45. 3. Remove the front bezel, if applicable. 4. Remove all drives from the front bay. 5. Remove the air shroud. 6. Remove the cooling fan assembly. Steps 1. Connect the cables. a. If applicable, connect the slimline SAS, I2C, and power cables to the backplane. b. Connect the I2C and power cables to the system board. 2. Holding the blue release tabs, align the slots on the backplane with the hooks on the system. 3. a.
If applicable, connect the slimline SAS, I2C, and power cables to the backplane.
b.
Connect the I2C and power cables to the system board.
2.
Holding the blue release tabs, align the slots on the backplane with the hooks on the system.
3.
Lower the drive backplane until the blue release tabs snap into place.
