Air shroud The air shroud directs the airflow across the entire system and maintain uniform airflow in the system. Air shroud prevents the system from overheating and is used to maintain uniform airflow inside the system. The system supports two types of air shrouds: • Non-GPU air shroud • GPU air shroud Removing the non-GPU air shroud Prerequisites CAUTION: Never operate your system with the air shroud removed. The system may get overheated quickly, resulting in shutdown of the system and loss of data. 1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions on page 44. 2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system on page 45. 3. If installed, remove the NVDIMM battery. Steps Hold the air shroud and lift it away from the system. Figure 21. Prerequisites
