Optional M.2 SSD module The BOSS card is a simple RAID solution card designed specifically for booting a server's operating system. The card supports up to two 6 Gbps M.2 SATA drives. The BOSS adapter card has a x8 connector using PCIe gen 2.0 x2 lanes, available in both the low-profile and fullheight form factor. Removing the M.2 SSD module Prerequisites 1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions on page 44. 2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system on page 45. 3. Remove the air shroud. 4. If installed, remove the rear drive cage. 5. Remove the BOSS card. NOTE: The procedure to remove the BOSS card is similar to the removing an expansion card. Steps 1. Loosen the screw and lift the retention strap that secures the M.2 SSD module on the BOSS card. 2. Lift the M.2 SSD module and slide it out of the connector on the BOSS card.
