Installing the expansion card risers Prerequisites 1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions on page 44. 2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system on page 45. 3. Remove the air shroud. Steps 1. If removed, install the expansion cards into the expansion card risers. 2. Holding the touch points, align the slots on the riser with the guides on the system board and air shroud. 3. Lower the expansion card riser into place until the expansion card riser connector is fully seated in the connector. 4. Tighten the captive screws to secure the riser to the system. Figure 54. Installing the expansion card risers
Prerequisites
1.
Follow the safety guidelines listed in
Safety instructions
on page 44.
2.
Follow the procedure listed in
Before working inside your system
on page 45.
3.
Remove the air shroud
.
Steps
1.
If removed, install the expansion cards into the expansion card risers.
2.
Holding the touch points, align the slots on the riser with the guides on the system board and air shroud.
3.
Lower the expansion card riser into place until the expansion card riser connector is fully seated in the connector.
4.
Tighten the captive screws to secure the riser to the system.
