EPSON Stylus Pro 3800/3800C/3850 2.3 Ink Supply Mechanism 2.3.1 Ink Flow Path The ink flow path is shown below. Revision A 2.3.2 Ink Pressurizing Mechanism This printer employs an ink pressurizing mechanism to stably supply ink in the ink cartridge (ink pack) to the print head. This ink pressurizing mechanism consists of a pressure pump unit installed in an ink supply mechanism and tightly-sealed ink cartridges. Air pumped into the tightly-sealed ink cartridge from the pressure pump unit squashes the ink pack in the cartridge, causing the ink inside the pack to be transferred to the print head.
