Finding a Place for the Printer Before unpacking the printer, find a suitable place to use it. Follow the guidelines below when selecting a location. Place the printer on a flat, stable surface. Place it close enough to the computer or workstation for its cable to reach. Use a grounded outlet, one that has three holes to match the power plug on the printer. Do not use an adapter plug. Leave adequate room around the printer to allow easy operation as well as maintenance and sufficient ventilation. The diagram below shows the recommended amount of space. 1-2 Setting Up
