electrophotographic process The printing method used by your printer. In this process, a low-power laser is used to expose selected portions of a revolving photosensitive drum. Toner is then attracted to the exposed areas of the drum to form a mirror image of the page to be printed. The toner adhering to the drum is then transferred to the surface of the paper where it is fused in place using a process combining heat and pressure.
