8. Pull the fan assembly slightly out of the product, disconnect two connectors (callout 13), and then remove the assembly. Figure 6-238 Remove the laser/scanner assembly (Y/M) (8 of 12) 13 9. Remove one screw (callout 14), and then release one spring (callout 15). CAUTION: The spring is not captive. Do not lose the spring when it is removed. Use a pair of needle-nose pliers to safely retain the spring when it is removed. Do not use a flat blade screwdriver to remove the spring; the spring could forcibly leave the product and strike you. Reinstallation tip When the laser/scanner is properly positioned in the chassis, the plastic parts which protrude at the front and rear of the product will be firmly seated against the locator tabs on the chassis. Pull the fan assembly slightly out of the product, disconnect two connectors (callout 13), and then

remove the assembly.

CAUTION:

The spring is not captive. Do not lose the spring when it is removed. Use a pair of

Reinstallation tip

When the laser/scanner is properly positioned in the chassis, the plastic parts
