The following table describes the Port 802.1x Dashboard controls: Table 12 Port 802.1x Dashboard controls Control Description Authentication Mode Authentication Status Controlled Direction Authenticator PAE State Backend Authentication State Reset Reauthenticate Displays the Access Control authorization mode for the port. The Authorization mode can be one of the following: • force-unauth • auto • force-auth Displays the current authorization status of the port, either authorized or unauthorized. Displays the controlled direction for the port, as follows: • both: indicates that control is exerted over both incoming and outgoing traffic through the controlled port. • In: indicates that control is exerted only over incoming traffic through the controlled port. Displays the Authenticator Port Access Entity State. The PAE state can be one of the following: • initialize • disconnected • connecting • authenticating • authenticated • aborting • held • forceAuth Displays the Backend Authentication State. The Backend Authentication state can be one of the following: • request • response • success • fail • timeout • idle Re-initializes the 802.1x access-control parameters for the port. The following actions take place, depending on the 802.1x port configuration: • force unauth: the port is placed in unauthorized state, and traffic is blocked. • auto: the port is placed in unauthorized state, then authentication is initiated. • force auth: the port is placed in authorized state, and authentication is not required.
