Using Windows NT 4.0 Installing Retail Windows NT 4.0 To install touchpad/trackpoint mouse support (Synaptics) Note If you have installed retail Windows you need to install the mouse driver. The driver is contained in the \HP\DRIVERS\TOUCHPAD subdirectory on the Recovery CD. You must have NT Service Pack 2 or higher installed prior to this step. To install or upgrade the mouse driver: 1. Run SETUP.EXE from the driver directory on your Recovery CD (\HP\DRIVERS\TOUCHPAD). 2. Follow the onscreen directions to complete installation. 3. If you are asked for additional files, point to the driver directory on your Recovery CD (\HP\DRIVERS\TOUCHPAD). Upon successful completion you will be asked to reboot your computer, choose YES if you have no other drivers to install. Otherwise, choose NO and continue to next step. To install USR modem driver If you have installed retail Windows you need to install the modem driver. The driver is contained in the \HP\DRIVERS\MODEM subdirectory on the recovery CD. To install or upgrade the USR modem driver: 1. Run SETUP.EXE from the driver directory on your recovery CD ROM (\HP\DRIVERS\MODEM\PCIMODEM). 2. To install touchpad/trackpoint mouse support (Synaptics)
If you have installed retail Windows you need to install the mouse driver. The driver is
contained in the \HP\DRIVERS\TOUCHPAD subdirectory on the Recovery CD.
Note
You must have NT Service Pack 2 or higher installed prior to this step.
To install or upgrade the mouse driver:
1.
Run SETUP.EXE from the driver directory on your Recovery CD
(\HP\DRIVERS\TOUCHPAD).
2.
Follow the onscreen directions to complete installation.
3.
