The drive shares power from the PC power supply. The drive has an industry standard 4-pin Amphenol or compatible male power connector, capable of housing 18 AWG wires for each connector pin. The design minimizes dust and particle deposits on CD-RW discs, since these deposits can negatively impact write quality.
