Operating the SAN Director 2/128 Table 14: Troubleshooting the SAN Director 2/128 (Continued) Issue One or more 16-port cards have either shut down or failed POST as indicated by the error log. An individual component is not operating as expected. Possible Cause 16-port cards might be overheated. 16-port card might be faulty. Pins on the card or on the backplane (inside the slot) might be damaged. Component may not have power or may not be firmly seated. Pins on the component or the backplane might be damaged. The component might have failed. Recommended Action Enter the sensorshow command to check the internal temperature readings. If components are overheating, shut down port cards as necessary to return the temperature readings to the operating ranges. Enter the slotshow command to determine status. For more information, enter the diagdisablepost command; then, the slotpoweron [slot number] command. Resolve the source of the problem or replace the card as required. Remove card from chassis and inspect pins on card and on backplane inside slot. Do not reinstall if pins on either component are visibly damaged, as this could damage pins on other component. Replace components as required. Ensure component is receiving power (power LED should be on) and component is firmly seated. Remove component from chassis and inspect pins on card and inside chassis. Do not reinstall if pins on either component are visibly damaged, as this could damage pins on other component. Replace parts as required. Enter the sensorshow command to determine component status. If component is a CP card or port card, enter the slotshow command to determine status. Replace component as necessary 104 SAN Director 2/128 Installation Guide
