Library Administration NOTE NOTE CAUTION Library Administration Enabling and Changing the Password Enabling and Changing the Password Administration procedures can be password protected. These procedures include: diagnostic tests, configurations, online drive repair, and setting the date and time. A password is also required for administration through the remote management card. Main Menu -> Administration -> Change Configuration -> Password When the library is first installed, the password is inactive. To protect the system from unauthorized access, use the following procedure to set a password. 1. Enter the Password menu. A status screen will indicate if a password is enabled. • If the password is turned off, select Set New Password to enable the password. • If the password is turned on, select Change Password to enter the new password. It must be exactly eight digits. • If the password is turned on, select Turn Password Off to clear the password. If you enter more than eight digits, the ninth digit will become the first digit of the new password. 2. Select [OK] to exit. Be sure to document the password. Enabling and Changing the Password
NOTE
Administration procedures can be password protected. These procedures
include: diagnostic tests, configurations, online drive repair, and setting
the date and time. A password is also required for administration through
the remote management card.
When the library is first installed, the password is inactive. To protect
the system from unauthorized access, use the following procedure to set
a password.
1.
Enter the
Password
menu. A status screen will indicate if a password
is enabled.
If the password is turned off, select
Set New Password
to enable the
password.
If the password is turned on, select
Change Password
to enter the
new password. It must be exactly eight digits.
If the password is turned on, select
Turn Password Off
to clear the
password.
NOTE
If you enter more than eight digits, the ninth digit will become the first
digit of the new password.
2. Select
[OK]
to exit.
CAUTION
Be sure to document the password. If you forget the password, contact
