Wireless (Select Models Only) Infrared Communications The notebook is IrDA-compliant-4 megabits per second (Mbps) standard-and can communicate with another infrared-equipped device that is also IrDA-compliant. The infrared port supports both low-speed connections of up to 115 kilobits per second (Kbps) and high-speed connections of up to 4 Mbps. Infrared performance may vary depending on the performance of infrared peripherals, distance between infrared devices, and applications used. Infrared signals are sent through an invisible beam of infrared light and require an unobstructed line-of-sight path. 11-16 Hardware and Software Guide
