Power Removing a Primary Battery Pack Ä CAUTION: To prevent loss of work when removing a battery pack that is the sole power source, initiate hibernation or turn off the notebook before removing the battery pack. If you are not sure whether the notebook is off or in hibernation, briefly press the power/standby button. Then shut down the notebook through the operating system. To remove a primary battery pack: 1. Turn the notebook upside down with the primary battery bay facing you. 2. Press the battery locking latch to the right 1. (The right side of the battery will eject slightly.) 3. Press and hold the battery release latch to the right 2 and slide the battery pack out of the notebook 3. Hardware and Software Guide 2-21
