Read the safety information that begins on page vii and "Installation guidelines" on page 99. 2. Remove the top cover (see "Top cover and bezel" on page 113). Attention: To ensure proper cooling and airflow, do not operate the server for more than 2 minutes with the top cover removed. 3. Disconnect the power cord from the connector on the back of the power supply. 4. Press the orange locking latch on the power-supply handle and raise the power-supply handle to the open position. 5. Lift the power supply out of the bay. 6. If you are instructed to return the hot-swap power supply, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you. To install the replacement hot-swap power supply, complete the following steps: 1. Raise the handle on the power supply to the open position. 2. Place the power supply into the bay and fully close the locking handle. 3. Connect one end of the power cord for the new power supply into the connector on the back of the power supply, and connect the other end of the power cord into a properly grounded electrical outlet. 4. Make sure that the ac power LED on the top of the power supply is lit, indicating that the power supply is operating correctly. If the server is turned on, make sure that the dc power LED on the top of the power supply is lit also. 5. Install the top cover (see "Top cover and bezel" on page 113). Chapter 4. properly
grounded
electrical
outlet.
4.
Make
sure
that
the
ac
power
LED
on
the
top
of
the
power
supply
is
lit,
indicating
that
the
power
supply
is
operating
correctly.
If
the
server
is
turned
on,
make
sure
that
the
dc
power
LED
on
the
top
of
the
power
supply
is
lit
also.
5.
Install
the
top
cover
(see
“Top
cover
and
bezel”
on
page
113).
