8. Disconnect the PCI-X switch card cable from the PCI-X board (see "PCI-X switch card assembly" on page 128). 9. Disconnect the SAS backplane power cable from the PCI-X board (see "SAS backplane" on page 120). 10. Remove all fans (see "Hot-swap fan" on page 105). 11. Remove the memory cards (see "Removing and replacing a memory card" on page 108). 12. Lift the microprocessor-tray release latch, open the microprocessor-tray levers, and pull the microprocessor tray out of the server slightly (see "Removing and installing a microprocessor" on page 122). 13. Remove the power backplane (see "Power backplane" on page 129). 14. Loosen the blue retainer screws on the rear of the server. 15. Slide the PCI-X board assembly toward the front of the server and grasp the blue handle to pull the assembly out of the server. 16. If you are instructed to return the PCI-X board assembly, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you. To install the replacement PCI-X board assembly, complete the following steps: 1. Grasp the blue handle on the PCI-X board assembly and place the assembly in the chassis. Slide the assembly toward the rear of the chassis and align it with the blue retainer screws. 2. Tighten the retainer screws to secure the assembly. 3. Install the power backplane. 4. Slide the microprocessor-tray assembly back into the server. 5. Install the memory cards. 6. Install all fans. 7. Connect the SAS backplane power cable to the connector on the PCI-X board. 8. Connect the PCI-X switch card cable to the connector on the PCI-X board. 9. Install the PCI-X adapter guide and the adapter dividers. 10. Install the I/O board. 11. Install the power supplies and the power-structure assembly. 12. Install the top cover and bezel (see "Top cover and bezel" on page 113). 13. Slide the server into the rack. 14. Connect the cables and power cords (see "Completing the installation" in the Installation Guide or User's Guide for cabling instructions). 15. Turn on all attached devices and the server. Chapter 4. Disconnect
the
SAS
backplane
power
cable
from
the
PCI-X
board

Remove
all
fans
(see
“Hot-swap
fan”
on
page
105).
11.
Remove
the
memory
cards
(see
“Removing
and
replacing
a
memory
card”
on
page
108).
12.
Lift
the
microprocessor-tray
release
latch,
open
the
microprocessor-tray
levers,
and
pull
the
microprocessor
tray
out
of
the
server
slightly
(see
“Removing
and
installing
a
microprocessor”
on
page
122).
13.
Remove
the

14.
Loosen
the

assembly,

the

2.

screws

secure

assembly.
3.

into

server.
5.
Install
the
memory
cards.
6.
Install
all
fans.
7.
Connect
the
SAS
backplane
power
cable
to
the
connector
on
the
PCI-X
board.
8.
Connect
the
PCI-X
switch
card
cable
to
the
connector
on
the
PCI-X
board.
9.
Install
the
PCI-X
adapter
guide
and
the
adapter
dividers.
10.
Install
the
I/O
board.
11.
Install
the
power
supplies
and
the
power-structure
assembly.
12.
Install
the
top
cover
and
bezel
(see
“Top
cover
and
bezel”
on
page
113).
13.
Slide
the
server
into
the
rack.
14.
Connect
the
cables
and
power
cords
(see
“Completing
the
installation”
in
the
Installation
Guide
or
User’s
Guide
for
cabling
instructions).
15.
Turn
on

server.
