Scalability cartridge assembly To remove the scalability cartridge assembly, complete the following steps: Scalability cartridge assembly Retention latch 1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and "Installation guidelines" on page 99. 2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cords and all external cables necessary to replace the device. 3. Remove the top cover and bezel (see "Top cover and bezel" on page 113). 4. Remove all fans (see "Hot-swap fan" on page 105). 5. Remove the memory cards (see "Removing and replacing a memory card" on page 108). 6. Lift the microprocessor-tray release latch, open the microprocessor-tray levers, and pull the microprocessor tray out of the server slightly (see "Removing and installing a microprocessor" on page 122). 7. Remove the power supplies and the power-supply structure (see "Power-supply structure" on page 119). 8. Move the retention latch away from the scalability cartridge assembly, grasp the blue handle, and lift the assembly out of the server, allowing the structure to pivot at the chassis rear. 9. Move the assembly away from the chassis rear as you lift the assembly from the server. 10.
