MEMORY OPERATION 5 D Programming a memory channel via the microphone The microphone can also be used to program memMW ory channels. z Set the desired frequency in VFO mode. ➥ Push [VFO/LOCK] to select VFO mode. ➥ Set the frequency using the keypad. ➥ Set other data (e.g. offset frequency, duplex direction, subaudible tone encoder ON/OFF and its frequency), if neces- sary. x Push [FUNC] then [CLR A(MW)] momentarily. c Select the memory channel to be programmed. ➥ Push [Y] or [Z] to select the memory channel (direct numeral input cannot be used). v Push [FUNC] then [CLR A(MW)] for 1 sec. to program. ➥ 3 beeps may sound and the VFO contents (including the subaudible tone frequency, etc.) are programmed. 5 ➥ Memory channel number increases when continuing to push [CLR A(MW)] after programming. [EXAMPLE]: Programming 145.870 MHz into memory channel 20 (blank channel) via the microphone. Push Push Push then momentarily. Push Push then ➠ 1 sec. and continue to push " " Beep " Beep " Beep " 26
