Replacing the Backup Battery, Push the battery down until it locks into the socket.

To replace the battery: 1. Before proceeding, record your custom BIOS settings. 2. Disconnect the AC power cords from the power source or wall outlets. 3. Turn off all peripheral devices connected to the server system. 4. Remove the rear access cover (page 66), the system board access cover (page 68), the memory board (page 69), the air baffle (page 71), and the processor board (page 73). 5. Slide the battery in the direction shown in Figure 35, allowing the battery to pop up. 6. Remove the battery from its socket. OM13287 Figure 35. Replacing the Backup Battery 7. Dispose of the battery according to local ordinance. 8. Remove the new lithium battery from its package. 9. Being careful to observe the correct polarity, lay the battery in the socket, inserting one edge of the battery under the large corner tabs. 10. Push the battery down until it locks into the socket. 11. Install the processor board, air baffle, memory board, system board access cover, and the rear access cover. 12. To replace the battery:
1.
Before proceeding, record your custom BIOS settings.
2.
Disconnect the AC power cords from the power source or wall outlets.
3.
Turn off all peripheral devices connected to the server system.
4.
Remove the rear access cover (page 66), the system board access cover (page 68), the memory
board (page 69), the air baffle (page 71), and the processor board (page 73).
5.
Slide the battery in the direction shown in Figure 35, allowing the battery to pop up.
6.
Remove the battery from its socket.
