4 Server Utilities Using the BIOS Setup Utility This section describes the BIOS Setup Utility options, which is used to change server configuration defaults. You can run BIOS Setup with or without an operating system being present. For information about specific BIOS setup screens, see the Intel® Server Board S5520UR Technical Product Specification. See "Additional Information and Software" on page 3 for a web link to this document. Entering BIOS Setup To enter the BIOS Setup, press the F2 function key when prompted during boot time. You must ensure that all the jumpers are in the normal operating position. The following prompt appears during the Power-On Self Test (POST) after POST completes the memory test: Press to enter SETUP When the BIOS setup is entered, the Main screen is displayed. If You Cannot Access Setup If you are not able to access the BIOS Setup, you might need to restore the BIOS default settings. For instructions, see "Restoring the BIOS Defaults" on page 102". Setup Menus Each BIOS Setup menu page contains a number of features. Except for those features that are provided only to display automatically configured information, each feature is associated with a value field that contains user-selectable parameters. These parameters can be changed if the user has adequate security rights. If a value cannot be changed for any reason, the feature's value field is inaccessible. Entering BIOS Setup
