Installing and Removing a Slimline Optical Drive or
Internal USB Floppy
You can install a SATA optical drive in the slimline optical drive bay.
In the Intel
®
Server System SR1600UR with hot-swap hard drives (Product Code:
SR1600URHS), you can also install a slimline USB floppy drive. The USB floppy drive
can be inserted into either the slimline bay or hard drive bay directly below the slimline
bay.
Cautions:
Slimline optical drives and USB floppy drives are NOT hot-swappable. Before removing
or replacing the drive, you must first take the server out of service, turn off all peripheral
devices connected to the system, turn off the system by pressing the power button, and
unplug the AC power cord from the system or wall outlet.
To maintain proper system cooling, a filler blank must be installed if you do not install a
device at this location.
Note:
A USB Floppy drive is not supported in
the
Intel
®
Server System SR1600UR
with fixed
mount hard drives (Product Code: SR1600UR).
