Removing a Slimline Optical Drive or Internal USB Floppy To remove the slimline optical drive or USB floppy, follow these steps: 1. If removing an internal USB floppy drive, unplug it from the backplane. 2. Disconnect the power and data cables from the rear of the optical device. 3. Press the blue release lever (from inside the chassis) to unlock the optical drive tray and remove the slimline optical drive tray assembly from the server system (see Figure 57). Press downward on the side of the tray (see letter "A" in Figure 58) and disengage the drive from the two metal tabs on the opposite side of the tray (see letter "B" in Figure 58). 5. Removing a Slimline Optical Drive or Internal USB Floppy
To remove the slimline optical drive or USB floppy, follow these steps:
1.
If removing an internal USB floppy drive, unplug it from the backplane.
2.
Disconnect the power and data cables from the rear of the optical device.
3.
Press the blue release lever (from inside the chassis) to unlock the optical drive tray
and remove the slimline optical drive tray assembly from the server system (see
Figure 57
).

4.
Press downward on the side of the tray (see letter “A” in
Figure 58
) and disengage
the drive from the two metal tabs on the opposite side of the tray (see letter “B” in
Figure 58
).
5.
Slide the optical drive out (see letter “C” in
Figure 58
) to remove it from the tray.
