Replacing the optical drive Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the "Important safety information" on page 1. This section provides instructions on how to replace the optical drive. Note: The optical drive is only available on some models. To replace the optical drive, do the following: 1. Turn off the computer and disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets. 2. Disconnect the optical drive cable from the USB connector on the computer. 3. Remove the screw that secures the optical drive box on the VESA mount bracket and then slide the optical drive box to remove it from the VESA mount bracket. Figure 170. Replacing the optical drive
Attention:
Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the “Important

This section provides instructions on how to replace the optical drive.
Note:
The optical drive is only available on some models.
To replace the optical drive, do the following:
1. Turn off the computer and disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets.
2. Disconnect the optical drive cable from the USB connector on the computer.
3. Remove the screw that secures the optical drive box on the VESA mount bracket and then slide the
optical drive box to remove it from the VESA mount bracket.
