Multi Zone-Continued Setting the Multi Zone 1 Press the [RECEIVER] button followed by the [SETUP] button. The main menu appears onscreen. If the main menu doesn't appear, make sure the appropriate external input is selected on your TV. 2 Use the Up and Down [R]/[X] buttons to select "7. Hardware Setup", and then press [ENTER]. The "Hardware Setup" menu appears. 7. Hardware Setup 1. Remote ID 2. Multi Zone 3. Tuner 4. HDMI 5. Network 6. Firmware Update 3 Use the Up and Down [R]/[X] buttons to select "2. Multi Zone", and then press [ENTER]. The "Multi Zone" menu appears. Note: This procedure can also be performed on the AV receiver by using its [SETUP] button, arrow buttons, and [ENTER] button. ■ Zone2/3 Out If you've connected your Zone 2/3 speakers to an amp with no volume control, set the "Zone2 Out" and "Zone3 Out" setting, respectively, to "Variable" so that you can set the volume, balance, and tone of zone 2 and volume and balance of zone 3 on the AV receiver. Fixed: The Zone 2/3 volume must be set on the amp in that zone. Variable: The Zone 2/3 volume can be set on the AV receiver. ■ Zone2/3 Maximum Volume With this setting, you can limit the maximum volume for Zone 2/3. When the "Volume Display" setting is set to "Absolute", the "Maximum Volume" range is "Off", 99 to 50. When it's set to "Relative", the range is "Off", +17 dB to -32 dB. To disable this setting, select "Off". ■ Zone2/3 Power On Volume This setting determines what the volume will be for Zone 2/3 each time the AV receiver is turned on. When the "Volume Display" preference is set to "Absolute", the range is "Last", "Min", 1 to "Max". When it's set to "Relative", the range is "Last", -2 dB, -81 dB to +18 dB. To use the same volume level as when the AV receiver was last turned off, select "Last". The "Zone2/3 Power On Volume" cannot be set higher than the "Zone2/3 Maximum Volume" setting. 4 Use the Up and Down [R]/[X] buttons to select an item, and use the Left and Right [F]/[S] buttons to change it. The items are explained below. 5 When you've finished, press the [SETUP] button. The setup menu closes. 119
