Switching Off the Microphone (Mute), Muting or Sending Key Tones

4. To end the current call, press the key. Switching Off the Microphone (Mute) You can temporarily switch off your phone's microphone, so that the person on the phone cannot hear you. To switch the microphone off temporarily: 1. Press the Options soft key or the key. 2. Select Mute. The other person can no longer hear you. Alternatively, press the Spacebar ( ) key to mute the call. To switch the microphone back on: 1. Press the Options soft key or the key. 2. Select Unmute. The other person can hear you again. Alternatively, press the Spacebar ( ) key to unmute the call. Muting or Sending Key Tones Mute Keys and Send Key options allow you to turn off and on the key tones. If the Mute Keys option is selected, your phone does not transmit the DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-Frequency) tones of the keys, which allows you to press keys without hearing key tones during a call. Note: To communicate with answering machines or computerized telephone systems, the Send Keys option must be selected. You can temporarily switch off your phone’s microphone,
so that the person on the phone cannot hear you.
To switch the microphone off temporarily:

Press the
Options

key.

Mute
. The other person can no longer hear you.

) key to mute the
call.
