Another VCR malfunctions when you use the supplied Remote Commander. • Select a commander mode other than VTR 2 for your VCR. • Cover the sensor of your VCR with black paper. Batteries/Power sources The power abruptly turns off. • When approximately 5 minutes have elapsed while you do not operate your camcorder, the camcorder is automatically turned off (A.SHUT OFF). Change the setting of [A.SHUT OFF] (p. 61), or turn on the power again (p. 16), or use the AC Adaptor. • Charge the battery pack (p. 13). The /CHG (charge) lamp does not light while the battery pack is being charged. • Slide the POWER switch to OFF (CHG) (p. 13). • Attach the battery pack to the camcorder correctly (p. 13). • Connect the power cord (mains lead) to the wall outlet (wall socket) properly. • The battery charge is completed (p. 13). The /CHG (charge) lamp flashes while the battery pack is being charged. • Attach the battery pack to the camcorder correctly (p. 13). If the problem persists, disconnect the AC Adaptor from the wall outlet (wall socket) and contact your Sony dealer. The battery pack may be damaged. The remaining battery time indicator does not indicate the correct time. • Ambient temperature is too high or too low, or the battery pack has not been charged enough. This is not a malfunction. • Fully charge the battery again. If the problem persists, the battery may be wornout. Replace it with a new one (p. 13, 93). • The indicated time may not be correct in certain circumstances. For example, when you open or close the LCD panel, it takes about 1 minute to display the correct remaining battery time. The battery pack discharges too quickly. • Ambient temperature is too high or low, or the battery pack has not been charged enough. This is not a malfunction. • Fully charge the battery again. If the problem persists, the battery may be wornout. Replace it with a new one (p. 13, 93). LCD screen/viewfinder You cannot turn the LCD backlight off. • During Easy Handycam operation, you cannot turn the LCD backlight on/off by pressing and holding DISPLAY/BATT INFO (p. 22). You cannot turn off the indicator. • You cannot turn off . Touch to check the warning messages (p. 88). The buttons do not appear on the touch panel. • Touch the LCD screen lightly. • Press DISPLAY/BATT INFO on your camcorder (or DISPLAY on the Remote Commander) (p. 18, 106). Troubleshooting
Another VCR malfunctions when you
use the supplied Remote
Commander.
• Select a commander mode other than VTR
2 for your VCR.
• Cover the sensor of your VCR with black
paper.
The power abruptly turns off.
• When approximately 5 minutes have
