36 Finding Your Way Around Front with the display open Shortcut buttons Shortcut buttons allow you to automatically launch a chosen application. If your computer is off, you can press the shortcut button to turn on the computer and launch the browser automatically in one step. The Internet button is a shortcut button that launches your Internet Web browser. The second shortcut button is user programmable button available to launch custom applications. The third shortcut button is user programmable button available to launch custom applications. System indicator panel AC power light On/off light Battery light Hard disk Drive-in-use light drive-access light The AC power light glows green when the computer is connected to an AC power source. The on/off light glows green when the computer is on, or when the computer is off and the CD/DVD/Media Player power switch is used. The battery light indicates the main battery's current charge. It: ❖ Glows green when the battery is fully charged ❖ Glows amber while the battery is being charged ❖ Flashes amber when the charge reaches the critical battery level, normally 2 percent. ❖ Does not glow if the external power source is disconnected or if the battery is completely discharged
