Managing Printer Usage Front Panel Operations Basic Menu Navigation Technique With the printer on-line, navigate the menu system by following the steps below. For a description of the printer's menus, items and values, see the section Menu System (page 50). 1 Press Menu Up or Menu Down to scroll the available menus until you locate the one you want. You will see: Menus Menu Name Where Menu Name is the current menu displayed (such as Job Menu or Tray Menu). 2 Press Item Up or Item Down to scroll the items of the submenu (all menus except the Password Menu). You will see: Menu Name Item Name Where Item Name is the current item displayed (such as Paper Size or Tray Sequence). For the Job, Print and Reset Menus, the bottom line of the display indicates an action to be taken (such as to print a Configuration Sheet or a PCL Font List). 3 Press Value Up or Value Down to select the appropriate value for the current item displayed. You will see: Item Name = Current Value* If a list of many values exists (for example, 1 through 99 for number of copies), you can scroll quickly by holding down Value Up or Value Down. Note The asterisk (*) indicates the currently selected value. 4 When you see the value you want, press Enter to accept it. You will see: Menu Name Item Name You may either continue to work in the Menu system by repeating the steps above, or exit and return to normal operation by pressing On Line. With the printer on-line, navigate the menu system by following the steps below. For a
description of the printer’s menus, items and values, see the section

Menu Up

to scroll the available menus until you locate the one
you want.
You will see:
