Managing Printer Usage Setting Network Addressing The procedure for setting Ethernet, Token Ring and Novell values requires a different keying technique than does the basic menu navigation to set values for other menu items. While the example below sets the Ethernet IP address, the technique is basically the same for setting any of the following: I Ethernet Menu I IP Address I Sub Net Mask I Default Gateway I Token Ring Menu I IP Address I Sub Net Mask I Default Gateway I LAA I Novell Menu I Primary Server I NDS Context I PServer Name I NDS Tree To set the Ethernet IP address: 1 At the front panel, press Menu Up† or Menu Down until you see: Menus Ethernet Menu 2 Press Item Up or Item Down until you see: Ethernet Menu IP Address 3 Press Value Up or Value Down and you will see: IP Address 000.000.000.000 if no address has been assigned (otherwise you will see the current value for the IP address). The underline indicates the position of the cursor, which starts at the first digit. 4 To change the value of the first digit, press Value Up† and you will see: IP Address 100.000.000.000 5 Press Value Up again and you will see: IP Address 200.000.000.000 Continue pressing Value Up until you have set the correct value for the first digit. The procedure for setting Ethernet, Token Ring and Novell values requires a different
keying technique than does the basic menu navigation to set values for other menu items.
While the example below sets the Ethernet IP address, the technique is basically the same
for setting any of the following:

To set the Ethernet IP address:

At the front panel, press
Menu Up
or
Menu Down
until you see:

Press
Item Up
or
Item Down
until you see:

Press
Value Up
or
Value Down
and you will see:
if no address has been assigned (otherwise you will see the current value for the IP address). The
