Clearing the Switch IP Address and Configuration Chapter 4 Troubleshooting As POST continues, the System LED blinks green, and the other LEDs turn off. The port LEDs turn solid green, and each port LED turns off as the test successfully checks each port. If there is a failure associated with a particular port, that port LED turns amber. When POST is complete, only the SYST and STAT LEDs remain green. The MASTR LED is also green on a single switch or on a stack master switch. Note For information on operating status for the LEDs, go to the "LEDs" section on page 2-8. If a switch fails POST, the System LED turns amber. The RPS LED turns either solid amber or blinking amber. Other LEDs are off. Note POST failures are usually fatal. Call Cisco Systems if your switch does not pass POST. Clearing the Switch IP Address and Configuration If you have configured a new switch with a wrong IP address, or all the switch LEDs start blinking when you are trying to enter Express Setup mode, you can clear the IP address that is configured on the switch. Note This procedure will clear the IP address and all configuration information stored on the switch. Do not follow this procedure unless you want to completely reconfigure the switch. To clear the IP address and the switch configuration information, follow these steps: Step 1 Press and hold the Mode button, as shown in Figure 1-4 on page 1-5. that port LED turns amber.
When POST is complete, only the SYST and STAT LEDs remain green. The
MASTR LED is also green on a single switch or on a stack master switch.
Note
For information on operating status for the LEDs, go to the

If a switch fails POST, the System LED turns amber. The RPS LED turns either
solid amber or blinking amber. Other LEDs are off.
Note
POST failures are usually fatal. Call Cisco Systems if your switch does not pass
POST.
Clearing the Switch IP Address and Configuration

on the switch. Do not follow this procedure unless you want to completely
reconfigure the switch.
To clear the IP address and the switch configuration information, follow these
steps:
