Removal and Replacement Procedures 2-25 Hot-Plug Power Supply WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the equipment, Unplug the power cord before removing the power supply from the server. Install the power supply before connecting the power cord to the power supply. CAUTION: If one of the power supplies is removed, it must either be replaced by another power supply, or a blank bezel should be inserted immediately to allow proper airflow. Do not operate for more than a few minutes without taking these precautions. NOTE: It is not necessary to place the system in Standby for a hot-plug power supply replacement in a redundant power supply configuration. To remove a hot-plug power supply, 1. Unplug the AC power cord from the hot-plug power supply. 2. Grasp the power supply handle, and slide the release lever upward . 3. Pull the power supply from the server . B A 1 2 Figure 2-22. Hot-Plug Power Supply
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the equipment,
Unplug the power cord before removing the power supply from the server.
Install the power supply before connecting the power cord to the power supply.
CAUTION:
If one of the power supplies is removed, it must either be replaced by another
power supply, or a blank bezel should be inserted immediately to allow proper airflow. Do not
operate for more than a few minutes without taking these precautions.
NOTE:
It is not necessary to place the system in Standby for a hot-plug power supply replacement in a
redundant power supply configuration.
To remove a hot-plug power supply,
1.
Unplug the AC power cord from the hot-plug power supply.
2.
Grasp the power supply handle, and slide the release lever upward
.
3.
Pull the power supply from the server
.
