DES-3028 DES-3028P DES-3028G DES-3052 DES-3052P Layer 2 Fast Ethernet Managed Switch Reboot System The following window is used to restart the Switch. Figure 11- 32. Reboot System window Clicking the Yes radio button will instruct the Switch to save the current configuration to non-volatile RAM before restarting the Switch. Clicking the No radio button instructs the Switch not to save the current configuration before restarting the Switch. All of the configuration information entered from the last time Save Changes was executed, will be lost. Click the Restart button to restart the Switch. Save Changes The Switch has two levels of memory, normal RAM and non-volatile or NV-RAM. Configuration changes are made effective clicking the Apply button. When this is done, the settings will be immediately applied to the switching software in NV-RAM, and will immediately take effect. Some settings, though, require you to restart the Switch before they will take effect. Restarting the Switch erases all settings in RAM and reloads the stored settings from the NV-RAM. Thus, it is necessary to save all setting changes to NV-RAM before rebooting the switch. To retain any configuration changes permanently, click on the Save button in the Save Changes page, as shown below. Figure 11- 33. Save Changes window 260
