Enabling Logs Using CLI Commands The following table summarizes the equivalent CLI commands for setting fields displayed in the Global Log Parameters page. Table 6-22. Global Log Parameters CLI Commands CLI Command Description logging on Enables error message logging. logging {ip-address | hostname} [port port] [severity level] [facility facility] [description text] Logs messages to a syslog server. For a list of the Severity levels, see "Log Severity Levels" . logging console level Limits messages logged to the console based on severity. logging buffered level Limits syslog messages displayed from an internal buffer (RAM) based on severity. logging file level Limits syslog messages sent to the logging file based on severity. clear logging Clears logs. clear logging file Clears messages from the logging file.
