Getting Started Turning on the GPSMAP 3206/3210 Before you turn on the GPSMAP 3206/3210, make sure the unit and GPS 17 antenna are correctly installed on your vessel according to the instructions in the GPSMAP 3206/3210 & GPS 17 Installation Instructions. The first time you turn on the GPSMAP 3206/3210 and GPS 17 antenna, the receiver must collect satellite data and establish its current location. To ensure proper initialization, the GPSMAP 3206/3210 is shipped from the factory in AutoLocate mode. To turn on the GPSMAP 3206/3210: 1. Press and hold the POWER key until the unit turns on. 2. When I Agree is highlighted on the Warning Page, press ENTER to open the Map Page. Getting Started > Turning on the GPSMAP 3206/3210 To turn off the GPSMAP 3206/3210: Press and hold the POWER key until the unit turns off. Adjusting the Backlight You can adjust the screen backlighting on the GPSMAP 3206/3210 from any page by using the POWER/BACKLIGHT key. To adjust the backlight level: 1. Press and release the POWER/BACKLIGHT key. 2. Press up on the ROCKER to increase the brightness, or press down to decrease. TIP: After you open the Backlight adjustment window, press the POWER/BACKLIGHT key repeatedly to cycle through the three backlight settings: Highest, Middle, and Lowest.
