Flash memory card (firmware) WARNING! The MFP contains components that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Always perform service work at an ESD-protected workstation. If an ESD-protected workstation is not available, discharge body static by grasping the MFP chassis before touching an ESD-sensitive component. Ground the MFP chassis before servicing the MFP. 1. Remove the formatter board from the MFP. See Formatter board on page 297. Figure 5-64 Remove the flash memory card (1 of 2) 2. Grasp the flash memory card, and then pull it out of the formatter cage. NOTE: When reinstalling the firmware flash memory card, it must be installed in the slot marked FIRMWARE SLOT.
