Upper pickup drive assembly 1. Remove the 2 X 500-sheet feeder rear cover. See Rear cover on page 461. 2. Remove the pickup motor assembly. See Pickup motor assembly on page 469. 3. Disconnect the connector (callout 1). 4. Remove four screws (callout 2), and then remove the upper pickup drive assembly (callout 3). Figure 5-336 Remove the upper pickup drive assembly TIP: When reinstalling the upper pickup drive assembly, align the D-shaped shaft on the assembly to fit through the hole in the chassis. To allow the black arm on the assembly to lift, install tray 3 (filled with paper). As you install the tray, manually lift the bin-full flag up over the tray. Lower pickup drive assembly 1.
