Fax accessory WARNING! The MFP contains components that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Always perform service work at an ESD-protected workstation. If an ESD-protected workstation is not available, discharge body static by grasping the MFP chassis before touching an ESD-sensitive component. Ground the MFP chassis before servicing the MFP. Use this procedure to install or replace the analog fax accessory. 1. Turn off the MFP, and disconnect all cables. 2. Remove the formatter board from the MFP. See Formatter board on page 297. 3. If a fax accessory is in place, unhook the restraining strap and set it aside. Figure 5-66 Remove the fax accessory (1 of 5) 4. Grasp the card and pull upward to remove it from the formatter board.
