Windows Printing Section V - Windows Printing Chapter 1: OkiLAN 6010e Set Up for Windows NT 4.0 Overview This section contains instruction and information on how to set up your OkiLAN 6010e for a Windows NT 4.0 environment. Print options for Windows NT 4.0 include: • OkiLAN 6010e Connect for IP • OkiLAN 6010e Connect for DLC • LPR OkiLAN 6010e Connect for IP OkiLAN 6010e Connect for TCP/IP is a full featured utility that allows simple, direct, TCP/IP printing from your computer to a printer attached to an OKI TCP/IP enabled print server. OkiLAN 6010e Connect has advantages over other TCP/IP printing options. It allows you to print to print servers that are using Dynamic IP addresses (DHCP). It will also notify you immediately in the event of a printer error (e.g. Paper out). Print jobs printed through OkiLAN 6010e Connect are sent directly to the OkiLAN 6010e print server and not routed through a network server, resulting in a reduction of network traffic. System Requirements To use OkiLAN 6010e Connect for TCP/IP for your Windows NT 4.0 operating system, your computer must be configured to run TCP/IP. The OkiLAN 6010e print server must also be configured to run TCP/IP. OKI OkiLAN 6010e User's Guide V - 5
