Booklet Maker If you have an InfoPrint 2190, InfoPrint 2210, or InfoPrint 2235, you can use the Booklet Maker feature to use the fold-in-and-staple finishing function. Booklet Maker supports jobs that are a maximum of 15 pages in length. When installed, the Booklet Maker feature is in output bin 3, which is called the Shift Tray Lower. InfoPrint Manager selects Booklet Maker for a job only when the job specifies: 1. center-stitch 2. Output bin 3 Note: If you specify output bin 3, but do not specify center-stitch, pages will be routed to output bin 3 but booklets will not be created. For more information about specifying the Booklet Maker bin for either PostScript, PCL, or AFP jobs, see your printer documentation. Configuring InfoPrint Manager to use the InfoPrint 4000 and 4100 Perform this procedure with the help of your InfoPrint service representative to make sure that the actual destination, the InfoPrint 4000 or InfoPrint 4100 printer, and the cutter-trimmer-stacker (CTS) (a post-processing device used for paper handling) all support the same media types. 1. Use the procedure in "Associating a medium with an actual destination" from the InfoPrint Manager for AIX: Procedures to specify the media that the actual destination representing the InfoPrint 4000 or 4100 supports. 2. On the printer, define forms that correspond to the media you specified in step 1, for example: Medium Object Name letter legal ledger Printer_Form Name na letter na legal ledger Printing_Form Description 2-Up letter (8.5 by 11) 2-Up legal (8.5 by 14) 1-Up (11 by 17) 3. Set up the CTS for the dimensions required by the supported media. For example, to support ledger-size paper, set up the CTS for an 11-inch cut width and a 14-inch cut length. CTS can support a limited set of cut lengths and only one center slitting option. Displaying the InfoPrint Manager Operations GUI from the Enhanced Operator Console You can display the InfoPrint Manager Operations GUI from either the InfoPrint 4000 or InfoPrint 4100 Enhanced Operator Console by ordering and installing Feature Code 4560 (Part Number 54P1446) with your printer. For information about installing this feature on your printer, contact your InfoPrint Solutions service representative. To configure this support from your InfoPrint Manager AIX server, you must make sure that the remote execution daemon (rexecd) process is running on the server. Also, you must update the /etc/hosts file to include the printer's IP address. To do this task, follow these steps:: Chapter 2. Installing and configuring printer devices and related hardware 23

Booklet Maker
If you have an InfoPrint 2190, InfoPrint 2210, or InfoPrint 2235, you can use the
Booklet Maker feature to use the
fold-in-and-staple
finishing function. Booklet
Maker supports jobs that are a maximum of 15 pages in length.
When installed, the Booklet Maker feature is in output bin 3, which is called the
Shift Tray Lower
. InfoPrint Manager selects Booklet Maker for a job only when the
job specifies:
1.
center-stitch
2.
Output bin 3
Note:
If you specify output bin 3, but do not specify
center-stitch
, pages will be
routed to output bin 3 but booklets will not be created.
For more information about specifying the Booklet Maker bin for either PostScript,
PCL, or AFP jobs, see your printer documentation.
Configuring InfoPrint Manager to use the InfoPrint 4000 and 4100
Perform this procedure with the help of your InfoPrint service representative to
make sure that the actual destination, the InfoPrint 4000 or InfoPrint 4100 printer,
and the cutter-trimmer-stacker (CTS) (a post-processing device used for paper
handling) all support the same media types.
1.
Use the procedure in "Associating a medium with an actual destination" from
the
InfoPrint Manager for AIX: Procedures
to specify the media that the actual
destination representing the InfoPrint 4000 or 4100 supports.
2.
On the printer, define forms that correspond to the media you specified in step
1, for example:
Medium Object Name
Printer_Form Name
Printing_Form Description
letter
na letter
2-Up letter (8.5 by 11)
legal
na legal
2-Up legal (8.5 by 14)
ledger
ledger
1-Up (11 by 17)
3.
Set up the CTS for the dimensions required by the supported media. For
example, to support ledger-size paper, set up the CTS for an 11-inch cut width
and a 14-inch cut length. CTS can support a limited set of cut lengths and only
one center slitting option.
Displaying the InfoPrint Manager Operations GUI from the
Enhanced Operator Console
You can display the InfoPrint Manager Operations GUI from either the InfoPrint
4000 or InfoPrint 4100 Enhanced Operator Console by ordering and installing
Feature Code 4560 (Part Number 54P1446) with your printer. For information
about installing this feature on your printer, contact your InfoPrint Solutions
service representative.
To configure this support from your InfoPrint Manager AIX server, you must make
sure that the remote execution daemon (
rexecd
) process is running on the server.
Also, you must update the
/etc/hosts
file to include the printer's IP address. To do
this task, follow these steps::
