Precautions Battery considerations Follow these precautions when you charge your CLIE handheld. On charging • It takes about four hours to charge your CLIE handheld when the battery is empty. • When you charge your CLIE handheld every day, it takes only a few minutes to charge the battery. • You can view data or play audio files on your CLIE handheld while it is being charged. On the battery life • With a fully-charged battery, you can use your CLIE handheld for about fifteen days, 30 minutes each day, if you do not use the audio playback function. • If you set the HOLD switch to OFF and turn on the frontlight at the maximum level, you can play music continuously for about 3 hours. • If you set the HOLD switch to ON, you can play music continuously for about 11 hours. • Battery life varies depending on the conditions and environment where you use your CLIE handheld. Tips on conserving the battery • Turn off the frontlight under good lighting conditions. For turning off the frontlight, see "Changing the frontlight level" on page 25. • Change the automatic shut-off time setting so that your CLIE handheld will automatically turn off after a short period of inactivity. For details, see "Setting the automatic shut-off time" on page 172. • If you play music using Audio Player, the battery may run out quickly.
