This can be the Internet, a corporate network, or any other external private or public network. WAN/ISP functionality can also be configured to connect to an internal LAN when the appliance is protecting an internal subnet. Configure the WAN connections as soon as you install the appliance. You can configure or change the appliance's connectivity on the WAN ports using the WAN/ISP windows or using the Setup Wizard, which is run the first time you access the appliance after you complete the hardware installation. Before you start configuring a WAN connection, determine what kind of connection you have to the outside network, and based on the connection type, gather information to use during the configuration procedure.
