8 CHAPTER 2: INSERTING AND CONNECTING THE CARD Some operating systems (such as Windows 95) or card and socket services applications detect the card as soon as you insert it, then immediately prompt for the information required to install your network drivers. Experienced users may install the card in this way. However, if you want to install the help, diagnostic, and support utilities provided for the LAN+Modem card, you must run Setup (see "Running Setup" in Chapter 3). Connecting to a Network 1 Verify that you have the cable appropriate for the network cable at your site. 2 Attach the network connector at the end of the network cable to the LAN port (Figure 2) on the LAN+Modem card. 3 Connect one end of the RJ-45 extension cable to the network connector and the other end to the network segment (Figure 4). Connecting to a Network

Verify that you have the cable appropriate for the
network cable at your site.

Attach the network connector at the end of the
network cable to the LAN port (Figure 2) on the
LAN+Modem card.
