An arc is a segment of a circle defined by a centerpoint, radius, starting angle, and included angle. Two geometric properties define a circle: the centerpoint and radius. You can change these properties by selecting an arc or circle and changing the corresponding settings on the edit bar. You can draw a circular arc by specifying any of the following: s Startpoint, endpoint, and a point on the arc s Startpoint, endpoint, and centerpoint s Startpoint, endpoint, and included angle An elliptical arc is an ellipse with less than 360 degrees. You can draw an elliptical arc by specifying any of the following: s A rectangle using two points (in which an ellipse is tangent to all four sides), start angle, and included angle s Major and minor axes using three points, start angle, and included angle You can draw a circle by specifying any of the following: s Centerpoint and a point on the circle s Two points on opposite sides of the circle s Three points on the circle. s Centerpoint and radius s Radius and two entities to which the circle is tangent s Three entities to which the circle is tangent 156 | Chapter 13 Arcs & Circles
